Được thành lập vào tháng 9 năm 2003, Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Ngôn ngữ (Center for Language Studies – CLS) thuộc Đại học Quốc gia Chung Cheng (CCU) có sứ mệnh cốt lõi là nâng cao chuyên môn ngôn ngữ, thúc đẩy sự hiểu biết liên văn hóa và tăng cường năng lực cạnh tranh toàn cầu. Với đội ngũ giảng viên chuyên nghiệp và thiết kế khóa học đa dạng, trung tâm đáp ứng nhu cầu học tập ngôn ngữ của sinh viên CCU, người học quốc tế và cộng đồng rộng lớn. Đồng thời, CLS tích cực tích hợp nguồn lực từ Viện Ngôn ngữ học Sau đại học, Khoa Ngoại ngữ và Văn học, cùng các đơn vị liên quan khác trong trường nhằm thúc đẩy hợp tác liên ngành trong giáo dục ngôn ngữ, từ đó phát triển mô hình sư phạm gắn kết giữa lý thuyết và thực tiễn.

CLS được trang bị bảy phòng học ngôn ngữ đa phương tiện và kỹ thuật số, cùng với các không gian học tập tương tác chuyên biệt như phòng học theo tình huống và giảng đường tương tác. Trung tâm chịu trách nhiệm xây dựng chương trình tiếng Hoa cho tất cả sinh viên quốc tế tại CCU, đồng thời đảm nhiệm sứ mệnh quan trọng trong việc thúc đẩy giáo dục ngôn ngữ, trao đổi văn hóa và quốc tế hóa trong trường. Năm 2025, trung tâm chính thức thành lập hai đơn vị trực thuộc—Ban Tiếng Hoa (Chinese Language Division) và Ban Ngoại ngữ (Foreign Languages Division)—với nhiệm vụ phát triển tài nguyên học tập ngôn ngữ đa dạng và thúc đẩy giáo dục tiếng Hoa. Cả hai cùng hướng tới xây dựng một nền tảng toàn diện cho học tập ngôn ngữ và trải nghiệm văn hóa.

Là đơn vị cấp trường trực thuộc CLS, Ban Tiếng Hoa chịu trách nhiệm xây dựng chương trình giảng dạy tiếng Hoa, hỗ trợ ngôn ngữ cho sinh viên quốc tế và quảng bá tuyển sinh ở nước ngoài. Phù hợp với tầm nhìn học thuật của CCU là “Kết hợp sự xuất sắc trong Khoa học và Kỹ thuật với sức mạnh trong Nhân văn”, Ban này phát triển các khóa học tiếng Hoa theo lĩnh vực, vừa đảm bảo tính học thuật nghiêm ngặt vừa thúc đẩy ứng dụng liên ngành. Ngoài ra, Ban Tiếng Hoa cũng tích cực ứng dụng công nghệ điện toán đám mây và trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI) thông qua việc xây dựng “Hệ thống Mandarin CloudQuill” và “Nền tảng Hỗ trợ CCU-GPT”, đồng thời đẩy mạnh đào tạo giáo viên tiếng Hoa nhằm nâng cao chất lượng giảng dạy và hiệu quả chia sẻ nguồn lực.

Dưới triết lý “Càng bản địa, càng toàn cầu”, CLD kết hợp văn hóa địa phương Gia Nghĩa, sự phát triển công nghiệp và lợi thế công nghệ số để xây dựng một thương hiệu giáo dục ngôn ngữ vừa có chiều sâu văn hóa vừa có tầm nhìn toàn cầu. Trong tương lai, CLS sẽ tiếp tục kiên định với các nguyên tắc chuyên nghiệp, đổi mới, bản địa hóa và quốc tế hóa, đẩy mạnh việc tích hợp tài nguyên giáo dục ngôn ngữ trong trường, mở rộng sự hiện diện toàn cầu của giáo dục tiếng Hoa và hướng tới trở thành trung tâm hàng đầu về giáo dục ngôn ngữ và giao lưu văn hóa tại miền Nam Đài Loan.

Established in September 2003, the Center for Language Studies (CLS) at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) is dedicated to the core mission of enhancing linguistic expertise, fostering intercultural understanding, and strengthening global competitiveness. Through a combination of professional faculty and diverse course designs, the Center addresses the language learning needs of CCU students, international learners, and members of the broader community. At the same time, CLS actively integrates resources from the Graduate Institute of Linguistics, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, and other related units on campus to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in language education, thereby advancing a pedagogy that bridges theory and practice.

CLS is equipped with seven multimedia and digitalized language classrooms, as well as specialized interactive spaces including a scenario-based classroom and an interactive lecture hall. It is responsible for designing Mandarin programs for all international students at CCU, while also undertaking the broader mission of advancing language education, intercultural exchange, and internationalization within the university. In 2025, the Center formally established two dedicated divisions—the Chinese Language Division and the Foreign Languages Division—with respective responsibilities for developing diverse language learning resources and promoting Mandarin Chinese education. Together, they seek to create a comprehensive platform for language learning and cultural experiences.

As a university-level unit under CLS, the Chinese Language Division is entrusted with the planning of Mandarin curricula, providing language support for international students, and promoting overseas recruitment. In alignment with CCU’s academic vision of combining “Excellence in Science and Engineering with Strength in Humanities”, the Division develops discipline-specific Mandarin courses that highlight both academic rigor and interdisciplinary application. In addition, the Division actively incorporates cloud-based and AI technologies by establishing the “Mandarin CloudQuill System” and the “CCU-GPT Support Platform”, while also advancing Mandarin teacher training to improve instructional quality and resource-sharing efficiency.

Guided by the philosophy of “The More Local, the More Global”, CLD integrates Chiayi’s local culture, industrial development, and digital technology advantages to shape a language education brand that combines cultural depth with a global outlook. Moving forward, CLS will continue to adhere to the principles of professionalism, innovation, localization, and internationalization, deepening the integration of language education resources within the university, expanding the global presence of Mandarin education, and establishing itself as a leading hub for language education and intercultural exchange in southern Taiwan.
